How much would a trip from Houston to Disney in Florida cost if we were planning on driving and spending?

Also, Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Six Flags in Dallas give free ice water, does Disney do this, or should I factor in water also? Please, I am getting a little anxiety about the trip. I have a certain amount of money to spend and I need to see if it is going to come close. We are a family of four. The kids ages will be 17 and 7 by the time we go. How can one get from one Disney World Resort from another?

I have a friend who is staying in Disney the same time I am and we want to meet up eventually. They are staying at Contemporary, and I at All Star Music. The thing is, there is no monorail at my hotel to get to Contemporary. I know Disney has buses; Is there an Inter-resort Disney bus line or something I can take without additional charge?
Are there any other alternatives?
Is there any direct route between the hotels?
And when are bus operating hours?
