SelectPlusTeen Decapitated by Six Flags Roller-coasterTeen Decapitated by Six Flags Roller-coasterThe Associated PressA teenager was decapitated by a roller coaster after he hopped a pair of fences and entered a restricted area Saturday at Six Flags Over Georgia, authorities said. (June 29)This video provided by Six Flags shows the Batman roller coaster in Georgia, where a teenager lost his life. Authorities are looking into reports the teen jumped two six-foot fences to get a hat he lost while riding the coaster. The teen was struck and killed while it was in operation, going full speed. The 17-year-old was decapitated. Authorities say the teen was in a restricted, off-limits area. The ride was shut down after the accident, but is expected to reopen on Monday. The teen and his parents were at the park with a Church group from South Carolina. In May 2002, a 58-year-old groundskeeper was killed after he hit in the head by the leg of one of the ride’s passengers. ___ ___, The Associated Press.

The fences are there to PROTECT you. that is really so freaking sad, but he should have thought twice before going into a restricted area.

no its to far off the ground to have your feet hit it but it is close enough to have someone able to get hit. and i know they should put barbwire on the fences.

Yes, I know, but it’s still mean to make fun of him. Not saying you were, but that is what 90% of the people are doing here, in the world, and on the web. Makes me sick.

how dumb do you have to be to not be able to see a roller-coaster coming directly towards you, i mean could he not have moved out of the way in time?

Nothing is more special than your life. I certainly wouldn’t risk my life for anything like that.
September 26th, 2008 at 4:11 pm
i heard it was his lucky hat, ya good luck that hat brought him
September 27th, 2008 at 8:22 pm
1.) The boy must’ve thought if he told a worker there, they wouldn’t have gotten the hat for him.
2.) You don’t know if that hat was very special to him… it could’ve been a hat he earned, or gotten from a relative that meant something to him. If you have a worldy possesion and lost it, I bet you would try your best to get it back.
So, don’t judge a book by it’s cover. You people should be ashamed of making fun of him.

no onebe scared that this was dangeres he was stupid went into restrictedarea
September 30th, 2008 at 4:57 am
Thats horrible but it’s his own fault for jumping two fences it’s obvious if you lose something your not going to get it back, epsecially if your on a roller coaster, you shouldn’t wear a hat on a roller coaster anyway!

Ok..first of all, the kid made a really stupid move in going into a RESTRICTED area to get his hat. If he really wanted it back, he could’ve asked the person boarding more riders before the ride started up again. If they couldn’t help him, he could’ve even went to someone higher up. If all else fails, it’s just a hat man…is your life really worth a hat? It’s not to say this kid deserved for this to happen because no one does, but really he should’ve known better especially at that age.

what a moron, his fault

His parents didn’t release his name at that time.
Anyways, the kid should have had an employee get the hat. You don’t jump two six foot fences and go into a restricted area where a ride is obviously functioning. I am surprised a 17 year old would have not known better.
